| Introducing
the 2004/05 School Assembly Program |
|
|
Pressured
to fit in, many teens create an "onstage" personality - a combination
of their favorite pop icons and a media reality that glamorizes
alcohol use and other illegal, inappropriate and risky behaviors.
Backstage Pass helps teens distinguish between life's
onstage hype and its backstage realities. Playing across three
big screens (45' x 15'), this 35-minute multimedia show grabs
their attention then delivers powerful messages using real teens
to tell real stories about real life.
Give your students the chance to see for themselves what you've
been teaching - the importance of making informed choices and
responsible decisions. Take advantage of MADD's youth programs
and help your school make a positive impact in your own community.

Experimentation
is part of growing up. But too many fatalities, injuries and
lifelong addictions are fueled by harmful and illegal habits
introduced in adolescence. That's why this show explores not
only the hazards of alcohol but also the dangers of tobacco
and risky driving too. MADD is proud to have sponsors such as
the American Legacy Foundation and DaimlerChysler providing
funding and guidance to the show.
The American Legacy Foundation is dedicated to building a world
where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit. DaimlerChrysler
is committed to reducing teen traffic crashes through education
that helps teens gain experience and maturity before they actually
hit the road.
Stimulating and visually exciting, this program will generate
discussion among students and teachers for days and weeks following
a presentation. Activity Guides are provided for infusion into
current classroom curriculum.
