Cinco
de Mayo: Max Berg Plaza Park
is the site for this daylong celebration
of the culture of Mexico, held the
first Saturday of May. Admission is
free. The entertainment is funded
by beverage sales and community donations.
Attractions include live bands, costumed
dancers, a car show, an art exhibit,
contests, food and game booths and

Fourth
of July: The city's annual fireworks
show explodes at dusk from the Municipal
Pier. Admission is free. Most people
watch from the beach, a beachfront
park, the bluffs or a balcony. The
show is funded by donations from the

San
Clemente Ocean Festival: This
two-day event in mid-July features
an array of ocean-oriented activities
at the pier including lifeguard games,
a fishing derby, sand sculpture contest,
art exhibit, car show, games, beach
party and concert. You can watch for
free, but there are nominal participation
fees. The event also channels money

San
Clemente Fiesta: The Chamber
of Commerce presents
a 5K run-stride-walk and a day-long
street festival along Avenida Del
Mar on a Sunday in early August. The
day offers a variety of live bands,
food and game booths, children's attractions,
a Salsa Challenge and more. Most of

Clemente Seafest: This is a combination
chowder cookoff, business expo, arts
and crafts show and surf contest hosted
by the Chamber
of Commerce on a Sunday
in October at the pier. There's no
admission charge, just a nominal fee

Taste of San Clemente: In November,
the Chamber
of Commerce invites the
community (for a fee) to an evening
of sampling dishes from area restaurants,
